I don’t get it…
Why do people say shit like “This game is scarier than that game.” as a general statement, rather than “This game scared me more than that game.”?
You see, fear is one of those extremely personal things. Everyone is spooked on different levels by different things. So saying something like “Amnesia is scarier than Penumbra” is stupid to me, because I’m personally more scared of the dogs in Penumbra than I ever could be of the Grunts, Brutes, or even the Kaernk (I THINK that’s how it’s spelt…?)
Saying something like Silent Hill is scarier than Resident Evil is also silly because you have no idea if people’s personal fears make Resident Evil scarier to them than any Silent Hill enemies.
Am I making sense? I just dislike Horror-envy type behavior.
