Lance Alvers, a.k.a. Avalanche
A sketchy version of my Headcanon!Lance’s most prized possession: the only photo he has of his parents, before everything went haywire.

Lance is looking exceptionally cute in this episode hot damn.

I get the whole ‘we want to make Scott look older than the other students, because he’s a senior’ but consistency would be helpful. Just make Lance taller than Scott. Energy feeders like Lance tend to be very tall, anyway. Take Gambit, for example.
Bah. *sits in the corner with her casting of Jared Padalecki*
I was reading the Wiki article on Lance, and it had this to say about his powers:
- Seismic Wave Generation: Avalanche has the ability to generate powerful seismic waves from his hands, which can cause highly destructive effects. These seismic waves can cause any form of inorganic matter to shatter or crumble to dust. When directed at large objects, like a building or the earth itself, these seismic waves create effects similar to those of an avalanche or an earthquake within localized areas. Unlike his mainstream counterpart, Avalanche’s seismic waves seem to be able to affect organic material as well as inorganic material, although not to the same extent. Avalanche does not need to touch an object for these seismic waves to work. He can aim and direct them within his line of sight. Avalanche himself is immune to the effect of these seismic waves.
- Geokinesis: Avalanche’s ability to generate seismic waves gives him a limited degree of geokinesis. He can use these seismic waves to create thrusting pillars of rock for ranged attacks, create trenches, and even redirect earth-based substances to an extent.
I can’t exactly count this as entirely accurate, and I’ll explain why.
There are scenes where Lance doesn’t need to use his hands in order to create vibrations. When he is angered, his powers create vibration. In the episode “Joy Ride”, Lance was able to create a shower of boulders in a tight valley, yet his hands, nor body, were in a primed position to do so. This all tells me that his powers originate from his brain, not his hands, and while the hands and feet may be a way for him to target his waves of vibrations, they are not his primary source of power.
The article also goes on to say this:
Originally Avalanche would suffer from powerful headaches whenever he used his powers.
This also tells me that his powers are a form of telekinesis, because if it were his hands or feet creating the energy, those would be the things effected by his novice use of power.
Eh, just my thoughts on the wiki, really. Though by watching more of the series, I agree that Lance can, in fact, send waves of energy to areas he is not in direct contact with.
