I present you with…

MANIEL. THE RUGGED, MANLY VERSION OF DANIEL.
As you all know, I have a passion for casting. So of course this would mean I’d cast actors for the characters in one of my favorite Lovecraftian survival horror games, Amnesia: THe Dark Descent. To an extent, I had, but nothing had been solid. Now, I have solid castings in place, and will list them below.
First, we have our protagonist, Daniel of Mayfair, who I have cast with Paul McGann (circa Withnail and I)

Paul McGann is a powerful actor, and has the perfect face for Daniel. He’s excellent in period roles, and his voice can vary in pitch, depending on his mood (Much deeper when angry or crying, but softer when simply speaking), which I find perfect for Daniel’s character. He has a perfect ability to convey absolute terror without making a sound, and barely moving a muscle in his face. Why? His eyes. They’re large, and a pale blue-grey. This means that just by widening his eyes and letting his mouth fall just slightly open, he would be able to portray the exact amount of terror that would be needed for Daniel.

Next, there is the matter of Professor Herbert. I have cast him with Christopher Plummer.

This man is one of my favorite actors. He is poetic, charming, and always able to portray a character who might have an ulterior motive, but is just so calm and kind that you go along with his plans anyway, and only have yourself to blame when it turns out you were only there to act as a pawn. He wears a mustache BEAUTIFULLY, and his eyes crickle just enough to convey his wisdom and age, but not make him seem too old to go out on an expedition to Algeria. He is also amazing at playing desperate characters, as Herbert ended up being towards the end. (See Nicholas Nickleby. No, really, just do it.)

And last, but most certainly not least in this installment of Amnesia castings, we have Alexander of Brennenberg. I have chose for this role a man who would be AMAZING at it, David Warner.

This mans uncanny ability to play a dark authority figure with hidden motives is so amazing that I simply could not pass him up. David Warner has been in my life since I was a little girl, and I had as much of a crush on him then as I do now. The man is an acting legend. His perfect aging and piercing gaze make up for the fact that he does not have as deep a voice as the game voice actor, though trust me, his voice is just as sexy. He can convey every aspect of Alexander exactly, and is probably one of the best at playing broken old men who just want to return to what they had before. He can play those characters you hate, but still feel sympathy for. Those tragic villains that we all love are his forte.
If you guessed that this was an out-of-game-costume Daniel, then you’d be correct.
If you had no fucking idea who this is, I don’t blame you.

I COULDN’T RESIST. I’M SORRY.
When I saw the color of the potion in that scene from Emperor’s New Groove, I thought of the amnesia potion IMMEDIATELY.
